How Not To Sponsor People Through Facebook
I was updating my Facebook profile this morning when up popped the chat window with one of my friends wanting to chat. Cool … I am always up for a chat and I had not spoken to this person before.
Turns out he was a young guy from Chile and we chatted for about 2 or 3 minutes and then bham … he launches into a presentation for his MLM opportunity.
After explaining it to me he asked me what I thought … I said sounds cool (which it did). Then he asked me … ‘Do you want to join?’
hhhmmm curiously I said thanks but its probably not for me
Now you may have experienced something similar right? Maybe someone has posted a link to their exciting new opportunity right on your Facebook Wall.
Possibly you may have engaged in similar recruiting efforts yourself on Facebook or other Social Networking sites?
If so then don’t despair … there is a better way.
I explained to my new Chilean friend that sponsoring people is a little like getting married. Picture this for instance …
Lets say you are young and single (ok some of us have to think back a bit) and you are at a party. Across the other side of the room you see the man or woman of your dreams. Do you walk up to that person and ask them to marry you?
No of course you don’t … tried it once and it did not work out that well
There is a process you need to go through in order to wind up blissfully married right?
Well sponsoring people is no different … you need to go through a series of steps before you are in a position to ask them to go into business with you. Its all about building relationships and getting people to know you, like you and trust you.
Just because Facebook and other Social Networking sites allow you to immediately access people all over the world does not mean they are ready to join your business.
So spend time on getting to know people … help them to know you, like you and trust you.
How do you do this my Chilean friend asked?
Well its easy to do … just simply be more interested in them and helping them than in helping yourself. The more you give the more will flow back to you.
One of the ways we are doing this is by providing our MLM Attraction Marketing University for FREE. Its a 100% generic training system on how to apply MLM Attraction Marketing strategies.
So next time you head off into Facebook land to sponsor people you will know how to do it more effectively.

100% right Rod. It happens all the time and after a while on facebook you start to spot the MLM spammers from a mile away – or several thousand miles for that matter.
Good post,
Neil
Thanks for your comment Neil … I think mostly it is not intentional spamming that takes place. More just a lack of knowledge or understanding of strategy
Rod
