Perfect MLM Attraction Marketing System?
Have you ever stopped to ask yourself if there was a perfect MLM Attraction Marketing System what would it look like?
This is a question I have been asking myself a lot lately.
Mike Dillard of Magnetic Sponsoring fame is about to sell the remaining 94 copies of his MLM System Formula. I am fortunate to be one of the few people who have a copy of it and I decided to go back and review it ahead of the launch.
(Note: MLM System Formula is not for everyone … it is for those who are looking to create their own SYSTEM. Only invest in this course if you are looking to build a complete system from the ground up)
Any way … upon reviewing the MLM System Formula it got me thinking. Over the last five years there have been a lot of different MLM Attraction Marketing Systems. Obviously Magnetic Sponsoring is the best known, but there is also Ann Seig’s Renegade Network Marketer, Mike Klinglers Renegade Pro, there is the MLM Leads System Pro, Jonathan Budds system, Freedom Duplicator and hundreds more.
I have always been a SYSTEMs thinker. My first success in MLM came when I developed the Escape The Rat Race System and attracted more than 12,873 leads, and built a team into 23 countries.
Freedom Duplicator uses the original Escape The Rat Race software system which has cost me tens of thousands of dollars to develop, refine and operate.
BUT Mike has really got me thinking …
It seems there are some inherent flaws in most MLM Attraction Marketing Leads Systems … but does this have to be the case?
What if you could design the perfect MLM Attraction Marketing System? What would it look like?
What if we all put our minds together and collectively designed the perfect (or as close as possible) MLM Attraction Marketing Leads System?
I am keen to hear your thoughts …
I want to know what you think?
What do you believe would be the three key elements of the perfect MLM Attraction Marketing Leads System?

Right now I am in the process of writing a new Book about MLM Attraction Marketing Leads Systems called ‘The New Rules Of MLM’. So I am looking to have your input. For everyone who leaves a comment I will provide you with a complimentatry copy of the book.
So go ahead … share your thoughts and ideas … lets see what we can collectively come up with.

MLM can be intimidating! Big three questions are: Who do I talk to? What do I say? What tools should I use? Provide answers to these question!
My perfect MLM Attraction system would involve continual support from my upline. This is crucial in any mlm business.
I would want a system that provides all the tools and know how for people who have been in MLM for 20 seconds to people who have been in MLM for 20 years.
This system should be made available from the comfort of your own desk and not require you to attend meetings/seminars/pep rallys etc etc
What a super idea Rod to put it out to your readers. Ok well the perfect Attraction Marketing system for me would do the following:
Find me MLM Rockstar prospects
Outsource my marketing on auto-pilot
Build a relationship with them while I am out having fun
Enrol them for me in my MLM
Generate $10s of thousands in affiliate commissions
and get them started in my MLM
on and no monthly fee
LOL anyone reading this that is getting super excited please do a reality check! There can be no such system because MLM is a relationship business and as Rod says you can’t build a downline just with email BUT
we are getting closer and closer to the perfect system.
I got started learning Attraction Marketing with Rod way back with Escape the Rat Race system and in fact to this day I still have leaders in my business who came in through that so I know these systems work.
Rod the key components I must have in a system are that system users own their own list independently of the system( the prospect comes directly into each person’s funnel and not straight to the system owner)
I think the challenging aspect is to assist people to get the training they need to be effective online (it is such a huge learning curve for newbies) without them becoming so distracted with other stuff that they lose site of their MLM so the MLM must be focussed and in their funnel.
I look forward to reading your book. I’m sure it will be very enlightening.
The perfect MLM Attraction system, would not contain mandatory monthly purchases. The product has to be of real significant value–not hype. The product needs to be unique, not a Knock off of all the 100’s out there. There must be an immediate, significant return on investment. No money, no interest. It mush not be MLM! New name, new concept, no matrix with dead spots… straight line, all must succeed. It has to be a product that does not cost over 50.00. Well, don’t be surprised at all this, you asked, these are a few of my thoughts, not all my thoughts.
Hi Rod,
3 key elements of the perfect MLM Attraction Marketing System for me:
*Simplicity
*Jargon free
*Unique
Hope this helps!
Best wishes,
Malcolm
Rod, I would guess there are 3 or 4 variations depending on personality, strengths, weaknesses, background, etc. It will be interesting to find out what you find out. Mine would be Simplicity( It’s all gotten to complicated),Exercises(practice makes perfect and forms habits), Fun (we all learn quicker and better when we are having fun)
Thanks
Tim
I’m probably more like Rachel above. Leads must be come directly to me, not the system. It should include an autoresponder, video hosting, easy hookup to social media, and all customizable. Should be easy for newbies and complicated enough for pros to take full advantage of. It should be scalable. I agree with Gerald it should be less than $50 a month for the most advanced part of it, perhaps with a sliding scale so as you progress and use/need more functionality it costs more. So we really are helping the newest people who can’t afford it yet. Perhaps a free or dollar a month version which doesn’t have full video conferencing and goes up as the system becomes customized (or it costs more as you get more leads) up to the $50. Where you, Rod, don’t make more money unless the person on the service is getting more results.
Thanks everyone for your comments so far. I greatly value the feedback, thoughts and suggestions made.
Whats coming through for me from your comments so far is
- Simplicity for those starting out
- Functionality for more advanced users
- Uniqueness / Value Of Content / No Hype
- Ownership of list
- Investment to use system
These comments so far are in line with my thinking.
If you look at Magnetic Sponsoring as a case study (arguably the most successful system of all time) … I think the key was simplicity. Look at the logic and workflow:
- Valuable content front end opt in (10 Day Bootcamp)
- Immediate upsell to a physical product (less than $50)
- Automated follow up of leads via Bootcamp
- Purchase of Product MS gives free access to use SYSTEM
- Product sells SYSTEM (motivates you to promote it)
- Easy tools for 99% to get started
- Commissions to be made to monetize process
When you look at it its a brilliant simple system for the 95%. It seems to me that the whole space of MLM Attraction Marketing has moved away from this simple approach and people today are distracted by need to learn a hundred different online internet marketing, and social media marketing tactics … they loose site of why they are doing it in the first place which is to build their downline.
However I think there are flaws in Magnetic Sponsoring system as well:
- Heavily promotes Mike Dillard not YOU
- None of the emails system sends out have your details in them
- Affiliate commissions are low $20 ish
The biggest issue I believe with any MLM Attraction Marketing System is simply this … people have been lead to believe that if they build a list and use Autoresponders and Email marketing then they will grow their downline.
In my experience, having run two systems now, this rarely happens. Email open rates continue to fall. Most people are bombarded with emails on different MLM and Biz opportunities they become immune to them all.
So while I take on board your comments that a perfect system must give you ownership of the list … the problem with that is that simply populating an Autoresponder system with email addresses is not going to lead to success.
We must get back to focusing on what builds a downline … RELATIONSHIPS … you have to pick up the phone and start the process of building relationships with leads. FOLLOW UP … the system you use must allow you to organise your follow up and schedule follow up dates, make notes of previous discussions etc.
What we really want to have ownership over is the RELATIONSHIPS!
Watch these videos where I talk about why an Autoresponder list will never build a downline:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iuKqCO63W5g
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XbiXLP0ImxE
To me the perfect system for MLM Attraction Marketing is looking like this:
- High conversion opt in offer (Valuable Free Content Up Front)
- Front end offer sells system
- Front end offer PROMOTES YOU
- Automated Follow UP with Valuable content
- Automated Follow Up sells system
- Automated follow up PROMOTES YOU & YOUR LINKS to your websites, blogs
- One Time Purchase of say $77 (Pays $50 to YOU)
- One Time Purchase gives you:
– Physical Product (Advanced Version Of Original Opt In Product)
– Lifetime Use of System with No On-going Fees
- No On-Going FEES ever
- Simple Lead Management Tools for Follow Up
- Export Leads (or populate Autoresponder)
- SIMPLE Promotional Tools
- Extensive Training On How To FOLLOW UP & SPONSOR leads
- Customisable & Brandable to YOU (ie Promotes you not guru)
- Advertising Co-Op That Brings You Leads (monetized through commission from front end offer
That is what I think we should have in the perfect system.
Ultimately we only want our downline members using this system doing two things:
1/ Promoting the System with Simple tools (So they don’t have to become Internet marketing experts)
2/ Following Up Leads & Sponsoring them
So I would be interested in your comments on this?

Rod Moore
Hey Rod,
What a great thought provoking topic.
I agree with the first round of comments in that simplicity is key. A person needs to be able to visualize themselves up and running within the shortest time possible.
Your point about auto-responders is critical and I don’ think this is being emphasized enough when people start to utilize an online system.
There seems to be a huge amount of focus on automation which often leads to missing the key point of MLM. It’s a ‘Relationship Marketing’ business model. Automation is great as long as it’s used to free up my time to get to the important tasks that nobody else can replace, me building and strengthening those relationships.
Im not sure if there will ever be a perfect system due to the fact that change is constant but you’ve covered some great benefits above. I love the advertising Co-Op.
So far I feel there is one area missing…
Personal development (not just in the form of following up leads).
I’d like to see a system that encourages a person to grow. We talk a lot about marketing, branding and becoming leaders yet all of this requires people to grow. I don’t feel that any system on it’s own can take this work away from people, but ultimately a great system would encourage and educate on the personal growth required for success.
I see many people coming into online Attraction Marketing who don’t feel they have any value to offer.
Can the perfect system cover up the fact that a person doesn’t feel they have any value to offer the world?
So my perfect system would incorporate a training area, lets call it ‘The Psychology of Excellence’.
The initial focus would be on mindset and intention.
I’m constantly amazed at how many people I meet that never started out with an intention for their business. No matter how great the system is, if a person doesn’t have any ‘intention’ set for their business, I think it’s going to be a challenge to keep attrition rates down.
One of the things I think that can be misleading as far as online systems go, is that the only requirement for success will be to master certain technical skills, or even worse, no skills required, “we do it all for you”.
I think the more authentic and upfront we are about the personal development required for ‘any’ business, the higher the chance of weeding out people with ‘lottery mentality’.
Perhaps I just took the K.I.S.S. out of the system!
Michaele
Hi Rod like you ideas on the perfect possible system, but as seen as relationship is KEY l have yet to see a system offer voip service or a third party provider with great all round calling cost to most countries needed for mlm relationship building, been using voip for over 4 years now, currant quality is far better than 4 years ago,as well as better pricing, been with my current voip provider for over 3 years now also have a backup voip provider in case main one goes down for a short time when l needed to make that urgent call.
Cheers Brian Baulch
Michaele … great that you have pointed out the personal development side. I think if we extend this thinking we should look at creating a community of like minded MLMers all focused on using MLM Attraction Marketing to build their business for a number of reasons. Firstly just to have a support base. When I was in my previous MLM I had an upline who frowned upon my efforts to do things different from their old school system. So I was left isolated to build the business. I know many others have experienced the same from their sponsors and uplines.
So I think part of the perfect MLM Attraction Marketing System is to build a support community (a tribe if you will) which brings us all together, provides extensive personal development training and mindset training.
I think Joe Schroeders does this extremely well in terms of creating community and providing mindset training.

Rod
Hi Rod,
I think all the ideas listed above are fantastic. With my years of experience in the industry I have noticed that one of the biggest challenges for people is phone fear. I think a great idea would be too have a call centre or professional phone sales people follow up for you.
Also I think there should be a option where you can pay and hire experienced marketers that will set everything up for you PPC, Websites, SEO, Social Media etc Because the majority of people have no idea about the internet and marketing and simply don’t have the time.
There should also be a option where you can purchase bulk leads generated through a co-op marketing team.
Kind Regards
Great topic Rod.
For me The New Rules for MLM blend synergistically the best of traditional circle of influence relationship based network marketing with the leverage of new media / technologies to foster free flowing communications in cooperative communities.
In recent conversations with Jason O’Toole and Tracy Monteforte (both attraction marketing system creators) the need for personal AND personable communications are key beyond the flow of the “system”.
In Tracy’s case she advocates and trains extensively on working the phone to build the warm relationships required AFTER the system brings qualified prospects to you.
Jason on the other hand advocates the use of social media interactions as a way to move cold contacts into your warm circle of influence. This is then followed by the personable conversations providing for interactive dialogue confirming the match of the prospect to the potential opportunity. The is no product or opportunity in your face. It is out of the personal relationship the business relationship grows.
Rod your own work applying the effective Internet Marketing strategy of “moving” the free line is another key component of an effective system. That irresistable offer attracts and prequalifies prospects.
Finally the system needs to provide a collaborative environment to battle the brewing industry black-eye of cross recruiting. George Hartmann, master distributor of a system with over 1600 users suggests the system becomes the common ground to stop aggressive cross recruiting and provide for collaboration.
Whatever the system, the New Rules of Network Marketing should apply the best of Internet Marketing (adding extreme value and a long term focus) with the best of Network Marketing (personal concern for the personal development of individuals) with mechanisms for ongoing interaction (social media / community / autoresponder) in collaborative common noncompetitive purposes.
Your Freedom Duplicator system and the Attraction Marketing University put you well on the way. Simplification of the process will give the new rules real power.
